Russia launched a large-scale military invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022. The bombing startled us at 5 a.m. The Russian forces advanced on the strategically important Antonov Airport in the town of Gostomel, located 20 kilometers northwest of Kyiv. Our shelter is just 8 kilometers from this airport.
Electricity and water were cut off at our shelter the next day since we were under siege. We are in desperate need of food for our dogs and cats, because the invaders have surrounded us. We have been fired upon three times and it is impossible to make food deliveries.
The suffering of our staff of four people and 700 animals is horrible. Some of our dogs have been killed and property damage exceeds $30,000.00.
Gostomel Shelter are in desperate need of help!
