Laser pointers can be a good way to get your cat up and moving, but we encourage onlylimiteduse of them. Why? Cats need something that they canactually catch!
Grabbing a physical “prey” with their paws gives cats the satisfaction that they’ve had a successful hunt, but the virtual “red dot” will always slip past them! This is understandably very frustrating for cats and oftentimes, that built-up energy may come out in an undesirable way.
If your cat is a laser pointer fan, try pointing the laser at toys which can actually be captured. Then bring out a wand toy and shift her attention to that instead. Wand toys will more accurately mimic prey and give your cat the confidence and satisfaction she craves!
